In April 2025, LaunchDarkly acquired Highlight to fold its observability stack into LaunchDarkly's 'Guarded Releases' — pairing feature flags with real-time session replay, error, and trace data so teams can monitor and automatically roll back risky releases. Highlight's co-founders Jay Khatri and Vadim Korolik joined LaunchDarkly. The open-source project and hosted free tier (around 500 sessions/month) remain available, but new development is increasingly oriented around the LaunchDarkly platform.
